For the past three years, I’ve worked as a Data Systems Administrator in the U.S. Marine Corps. I didn’t learn telecommunications, virtualization, or security in a quiet college classroom—I learned it on the job, keeping enterprise infrastructure running under pressure alongside some of the best people I’ll ever meet.
I’ve loved every minute of leading and teaching younger Marines, but I’ve officially reached a point where I’ve learned everything the military job field can offer me. I want to go bigger. I’m looking for a company with strong goals that actually makes the world better, and where I can keep building my skills.
Right now, I don't have a college degree or a list of CompTIA certifications to prove what I know on paper. But in terms of actual hands-on capability, I can absolutely run on par with peers who have a bachelor's degree—simply because I've spent thousands of hours actually doing the work.
That said, I’m far from done learning. I’m fully planning to go to college and lock down my industry certifications to back up my field experience with the paperwork.
Whether you're looking for a motivated systems admin or are open to taking on a battle-tested professional for an internship where I can hit the ground running, I'd love to talk.
